Micro-, Nano- and Detector Technology
The FMF closely collaborates with the Freiburg Department of Micro Systems Engineering to develop novel materials and surfaces tailored to specifc applications in micro systems technology – ranging from sensor technology to micro optics. By integrating materials into microsystems, functions with a very high functional density are obtained. Our research spectrum ranges from (bio)sensors, detector technology and actors to micro optics and micro fuidics.
Current research topics are:
- Sensor technology and micro chips for biosensor systems
- Personalized medical therapy and diagnostics
- Detector technology, e.g. X-ray detectors
- Polymer brushes and microfuidics
- Biofunctionalized surfaces for chips
- Chip-based high-throughput screening and new analytical tools for Life Sciences
