Dr. Krügers Nanoscience Research Group
The nanoscience group of Dr. Michael Krueger is focussed on fundamental research and applied aspects of nanoscience and nanotechnology.
The laboratory of Dr. Krüger's group is located at the Freiburg Materials Research Centre (FMF) at the University of Freiburg, Germany. Main aspects of the work are the following:
- Synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials
- Modification of nanomaterials
- Implementation of (modified) nanomaterials into applications
Current projects
- Development of bulk-heterojunction solar cells based on quantum dot - polymer hybrid materials
- Development of novel catalytic systems for bio-fuelcell applications with the focus on implantable glucose fuel cells
- Development of novel stable nanosized fluorescent labels for biological applications
- Mechanistic studies on nanocrystal formation
- Development of novel bioanalytical methods to detect highly toxic proteins using a "lab on a chip" approach
