FMF receives "Vielfalt gestalten" certificate

IMG_3166_bearbeitet_2.jpgThe Freiburg Materials Research Centre has successfully completed the Diversity Audit of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e.V. (Donors' Association for the Promotion of Sciences and Humanities in Germany). At the end of the two-year process, the Stifterverband awarded the FMF the "Vielfalt gestalten" certificate on 6 March 2024. This certifies that the institute sees the diversity of its employees as an opportunity and has found ways to utilise this potential for further development.

"Based on our core task of researching new materials, the FMF aims to develop as a social community in the long term in a way that enables constructive and beneficial cooperation for all. In this way, scientific findings encourage the FMF to simultaneously realise excellence through diversity," says Stefanie Kuhl, Project Manager "Diversity" and Deputy Managing Director of the FMF. To this end, the FMF has developed a customised diversity concept as part of the audit process, which defines the strategic goals and fields of action as well as measures.

The certificate is valid for five years. To date, 76 universities and two non-university research institutions have successfully participated in the Stifterverband's Diversity Audit.
