Multifunctional and programmable polymer systems and sustainable materials



Applied polymer research at the FMF is based on the long tradition and core competence of the Freiburg University in macromolecular chemistry (Nobel prize winner Hermann Staudinger 1926-1956) and the chain of knowledge connecting polymer chemistry, polymer physics, polymer analysis and colloid sciences with polymer reaction engineering, catalysis and functional polymer processing to design tailored polymeric materials for specifc applications in lightweight engineering, rubber compounding, dispersions and advanced functional materials. By developing additives, conventional polymers can be equipped with new properties and be made more stable und better processible.
